The new Nova S is the ideal choice for demanding music lovers with limited space. With its clever floor standing Cabinet design that houses down fire bass reflex port and its advanced driver technology the Nova S achieves a dynamic and fine details that are rarely found in this size and price class. The Nova S is an uncompromising loudspeaker of which its small size does not reflect on its performance at all. It is a more advanced and refined version that is based on the Nova 2022 but comes with a compression driver, modified woofer, WBT binding posts and higher quality cables and crossover components.

In order to keep the deviations between the channels as small as possible, we use selected components in the crossovers with a maximum deviation of only one percent. Only non-aging film capacitors are used. The coils used come from Mundorf. In most loudspeakers in the high-end range, the crossovers are built on Pertinax boards and the individual components are connected by conductor wire paths. In contrast, the Nova S crossovers are wired by hand, soldered point to point and then mechanically secured to prevent movement of the sensitive components and thus reducing negative vibration effects on the crossover components. The point-to-point wiring minimizes electrical transitions in the signal path. What is regarded as a quality feature in highquality tube amplifiers is rarely implemented in loudspeaker construction as consistently as in
ODEON AUDIO products.

The Nova S houses a one-inch compression tweeter that is driven by a strong neodymium magnet with a force of over 2 Tesla. The result is a driver that guarantees highest resolution and ultra-fast reproduction. The extended reproduction of the highest frequencies gives the rest of tonal range that special quality. With a linear transmission of over 24,000 Hz, the Nova S covers a frequency band that is significantly extended upwards compared to Orfeo and the standard Nova. This allows an improved soundstage and more natural reprosdution. These qualities are supported and significantly enhanced by the use of the ODEON AUDIO birch multiplex horn. The 17cm horn functions as a mechanical amplifier that relieves the tweeter and thus contributes decisively to a relaxed sound character while providing highest resolution.

The low-midrange driver is made by the renowned Danish company Scan Speak. Like the tweeter, this driver is a custom-made product outside of normal mass production. By a combination of a handmade and coated cellulose cone with a very fine and flexible rubber surround and fabric centering, this system impresses with an extremely controlled bass and outstanding midrange characteristics unique in this price class. The bass-midrange driver is refined with a double magnet, which further increases the magnetic force acting on the voice coil that significantly
improves the efficiency and sonic characteristics.

A medium density fibreboard (MDF) is used for the cabinet. Our master craftsmen only use MDF with a particularly high proportion of wood fibers and binding agents, which are compressed under high pressure. This special material avoids disturbing resonances and excludes discoloration effects. The MDF used in the ODEON AUDIO models is up to 1.8 times heavier than conventional MDF and therefore much more stable. This makes it particularly suitable for sophisticated loudspeaker concepts.

Like the ODEON AUDIO floor standing loudspeakers, the Nova S also uses a downward firing bass reflex system. The downward orientation of the reflex tunnels ensures easier acoustic integration into the living room. Every room has so- called room modes as a result, strong bass peaks often occur. The downward firing bass reflex system stimulates these room modes much less than conventional solutions in which the reflex tube faces the rear wall.

The Nova S uses a particularly pure oxidation-free copper cabling (OFC) from German production for the woofer. The tweeters are connected by a high-purity thin 7N copper solid core wiring with Teflon insulation. To ensure interference-free contact, the Nova S comes with WBT Nextgen binding posts made of pure, gold-plated copper. Due to their design and low material usage, they suppress eddy current effects that usually occur in plug connections.
